DES Legislation & Advocacy Program

We disseminate timely and accurate information regarding Disability Evaluation System (DES) cases and issues with military commands, elected officials, federal judges, and other community leaders – enabling them to drive change in the relevant laws, underlying processes, and specific actions related to DES.

To date TWL has taken numerous actions calling for DES improvements.

The team has called Congressional offices, spoken with military liaison officers, and coordinated efforts with other Veteran and Military nonprofits.

We have also written letters directly to the President of the United States, the White House Military Office, service secretaries, and generals, resulting in notable Service policy changes.
